THE TUNNEL OF LOVE @ SOUTHBANK CENTRE

2014

Over the course of two months, the Southbank Centre united artists, communities, and partners to produce its Festival of Love, celebrating the passing of the same-sex couple act. Each installation at the festival delved into Ancient Greek concepts of love, thoughtfully chosen by psychotherapist Philippa Perry. Among the invited contributors was Heart n Soul, a disability arts organisation, which was tasked with creating an installation that paid homage to the iconic Tunnel of Love fairground ride.

In this collaborative project, we explored the Greek concept of Ludus, which embodies the ideas of flirting and playful affection. I worked closely with Heart n Soul's talented artists to curate and design this interactive installation, ensuring that it not only reflected the essence of Ludus but also engaged festival-goers in a meaningful and joyful experience. Our installation featured vibrant visuals, playful elements, and interactive components that encouraged visitors to participate and express their own interpretations of love and connection.
